Why Digital Media and Learning?
I am invested/involved in the future of Digital Media and Learning because I believe new technologies can help us craft a more just and peaceful world but only if people engage with them, study them, and organize around them.

Description of Current Work:
I do three types of work in this field. First, as a media scholar, I study historical technologies (looking at “early” multimedia and digital computing circa 1960) in their social contexts. Second, I work with LA charter schools to integrate technology into learning. And, third, I founded and edit an electronic journal that fosters experiments multimodal publishing.
