Wiki Government: How Technology Can Make Government Better, Democracy Stronger, and Citizens More Powerful presents a new vision of governance in the digital age and examines how the power of networks can enhance political institutions.

Drawing on her expertise and experience in creating Peer-to-Patent, the federal government’s first social networking initiative, Noveck examines how technology and citizen participation can help the government become more effective at solving the complex social and economic problems we face today.

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A, in which participants from both Second Life and in person can ask questions of the author.

The presentation begins at 12 pm EDT and is sponsored by the Markle Foundation. More information about the event can be found here. Click here to teleport.

MacArthur Island is a laboratory for MacArthur’s exploration of virtual worlds, led by the University of Southern California and the nonprofit Global Kids. Designed as an alternative space to educate grantees and others about the potential for philanthropy in virtual worlds, it allows grantees and Foundation partners to showcase their work and connect with new audiences.
